The best way to visit Rome during short stays is walking, definitely. Even in a couple of days it is possible to discover so many enchanting foreshortenings and unexpected landscapes. You can go here and there and catch the beauties with your camera without a plan, but you risk not to see as more as possible. We always suggest instead to follow a route starting from the apartment and walking pleasantly: from Roman Enchantment you go through San Giovanni in Laterano street till Coliseum, the symbol of Eternal City. Then carry on to Fori Imperiali street and pass Roman Fori, till Piazza Venezia. Then you can go straight ahead to Via del Corso, the most important street of Rome, full of many artistic sites to see and overall full of any kind of shops: fashion shops, bags shops, shoe shops, and whatsoever. In both left and right sides of it you can find the headquarters of the most famous fashion trademarks (Bulgari, Armani, Gucci, Fendi, Cavalli, ecc.). While walking, you can stop at Trevi's Fountain (remember to toss a coin with your back to the Fountain so to be once again in Rome!) and in Piazza di Spagna (the Spanish Steps). You can reach the end of Via del Corso at Piazza del Popolo. Otherwise, when in Piazza Venezia you can turn on your left and visit the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, an extraordinary example of art by Bernini. To visit Vatican instead we suggest to take underground at Manzoni and reach Ottaviano stop (direct line) and visit the collonnade of Bernini, the Basilica, the Dome and, unmissable, the Vatican Museums (the 4 rooms of Raffaello and the Cappella Sistina with the paints of Michelangelo, a breathless view!). In 2 days you can visit the most important sites!
